Host a Convention Watching Party!

The Republican National Convention begins on September 1st and the
planning is underway for our next McCain Nation party. On
September 4th, we will have a nationwide Convention Watching party as
John McCain accepts the Republican nomination in Minnesota. Click here to host an event or find one near you to attend.

After the great success of our first nationwide event, we hope to organize even more parties on September 4th. The last night of the convention will be a momentous evening that you will want to enjoy with other McCain supporters, so begin planning your event today!

Join Us on the Road to the Convention

As John McCain prepares to accept the Republican nomination on
September 4th at the GOP Convention in Minnesota, he will be holding rallies around the country leading up to the exciting night.

The first Road to the Convention Rally will be on August 29th in
Dayton, Ohio. From there, John and Cindy will travel to Washington,
Pennsylvania, on August 30th. John Rich, of the band "Big and Rich,"
will also be at the Pennsylvania event. The next stop will be in
O'Fallon, Missouri.

A Message from Orson Swindle

Below is a special message and news article from Orson Swindle,
Lieutenant Colonel, USMC (Ret.). Orson was a prisoner of war in Vietnam
with John McCain and is a longtime friend.

Clinton Campaign's Silence on 'Race Card' Deafening

The Politico article Race-card flap reopens Clinton camp wounds shows that the Clinton campaign basically agrees with the McCain campaign that Obama campaign used the 'race card' for political gain.

But regardless of the real meaning of Clinton’s words, and of Clinton’s long relationship with African-Americans, this is the rift between the Clinton and Obama camps that still cuts the deepest, and the one that may have the severest consequences for Obama’s White House bid. When John McCain’s campaign manager last week accused Obama of playing the “race card,” the Clintons or their supporters could have provided a powerful rebuttal. Instead they were silent, and in private, some even quietly cheered.

The depth of the anger in Clinton’s circle became clear Friday, when McCain’s chief strategist compared his candidate to Bill Clinton, and the Clintons seemed to accept the analogy.

"Say whatever you want about Bill Clinton, but it's deeply unfair to suggest his criticism of Obama was race-based,” McCain adviser Steve Schmidt told Politico, after his campaign blasted Obama for suggesting the McCain campaign would use his race against him. “We knew it was coming in our direction because they did it against a president of the United States of their own party.”

Hillary Clinton’s staff declined to comment, but her campaign communications director, Howard Wolfson, appeared on Fox News later that day to, in effect, back Schmidt up.

Some have stated that the Obama campaign shouldn't be criticized for bringing up race. However, it's important to note that the Obama campaign didn't just make a blanket statement about race and ethnicity, Obama directly stated that the McCain campaign would be using his "funny name" and the way he looks against him. What is unfair is to point your finger at the McCain campaign for trying to scare people with race and ethnicity when there is no evidence of that happenning.

The Clinton camp's silence speaks volumes. If they disagreed with the McCain campaign's assessment they could have easily knocked down the 'race card' charges, or at least minimized them with a simple statement. That didn't happen, and the reason is that they've already been burned by this strategy.

Our Internship Program is a unique opportunity to participate and play a key role in the U.S. presidential election process. Interns selected to work for this prestigious program will gain invaluable political experience not only in the practical aspects of New Hampshire Republican politics but will be a part of a close knit team that is working on a national presidential race that will change American history.
Students from all across the state have long been involved in politics at the state and local level and have gained invaluable insight into the American political system. However, this exciting and fast paced internship takes this one step further by giving participants the opportunity to work in the most challenging and dynamic job environment in the country a U.S. presidential campaign in a battleground state.

John McCain has an unparalleled record of service to his country and has called for Americans to commit to a cause greater than oneself. It is in this spirit that interns and volunteers will make up the vast majority of McCain presidential campaign staff across New Hampshire. The individual talents, ideas and hard work of our interns has been instrumental in the success of some of our most important grassroots programs that were of paramount importance in John McCain's comeback primary victory in New Hampshire and winning the Republican nomination.
